Istanbul, 11 November 2021 (TDI): The 8th Summit of the Turkic Council is scheduled to be held in Istanbul, tomorrow. Turkic Council’s official Twitter account announced President Erdogan as the host of the diplomatic events.
The members are Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan. The leaders will discuss various issues under the theme of ‘Green Technologies and Smart Cities in Digital Age’.
The Istanbul Declaration is to be signed upon after Presidency is transferred from Azerbaijan to Turkey.

Hungary and Ukraine have observer status of the respective International Organisation. Afghanistan has formally applied for membership in March 2021. Turkic Council is an observer at the ‘Economic Cooperation Organisation’ and ‘Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
The respective organization established working relations with the Organisation of Security Cooperation Europe and, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building measures in Asia.
The main purpose was to deepen comprehensive cooperation between States. The six common themes of engagement are economy, transport, customs, education, diaspora, and culture.
