Bishkek, 14 September 2022 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ahmet Sadyk Dogan, on September 13.

The parties discussed the current agenda of the Kyrgyz-Turkish strategic cooperation and also noted the progressive and dynamic development of the Kyrgyz-Turkish political dialogue at all levels during the meeting.

Moreover, they also exchanged views on the prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, educational, cultural, humanitarian, and other fields of mutual interest.

Jeenbek Kulubaev emphasized that the bilateral relations between the countries are at the highest level and noted the importance of maintaining the positive experience gained in bilateral cooperation.

The parties outlined priority areas for cooperation in the near future, including within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, and also considered a schedule of upcoming events and planned visits at the highest and high levels during the meeting.

Turkish-Kyrgyz bilateral ties

The first country to recognize the Republic of Kyrgyzstan was Türkiye. The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 29 January 1992.

The bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye are at the level of strategic partnership in every field.

The relations between two countries in political, economic, military, educational, health, and transportation areas are within the framework of a broad legal basis consisting of more than two hundred agreements and protocols.

Türkiye holds special importance to Kyrgyzstan, keeping stability and development in Kyrgyzstan. Türkiye also supports Kyrgyzstan at every level from the beginning of the political and institutional transformation process.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister called on Ambassador, Ahmet Sadyk Dogan, to set an agenda to collectively make efforts to further develop bilateral cooperation in the spirit of brotherhood and strategic partnership.
