Kyrgyz Foreign Minister meets various Officials in Vienna

Vienna, 2 October 2021 (TDI): Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Ruslan Kazakbaev held meetings with various Officials in Vienna.

He met the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi. This meeting took place at the Vienna International Center. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister appreciated the role of the IAEA in assisting the Member States in gaining access to non-energy use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes. Kazakbaev expressed interest in the Kyrgyz Republic participating in the ZODIAC initiative. It is aimed at detecting zoonotic diseases. It will help the countries to combat new and emerging pathogens.

The Director-General of the IAEA highlighted the active cooperation between the IAEA and the Kyrgyz Republic. He announced further support for planned projects in Kyrgyzstan through the Agency.

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister also had a meeting with the Vice-President of the Federal Economic Chamber of Austria, Richard Schenz. The parties discussed topical issues of trade and economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria. They noted the significant need to increase mutual trade between the two countries. In this regard, the parties agreed to work within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Austrian Intergovernmental Commission. They outlined plans to carry out this work in 2022 based on economic cooperation.

Kazakbaev also invited the Vice-President of the Federal Economic Chamber of Austria, Schenz to take part in the 1st EU-CA Economic Forum. It will take place on November 5, 2021, in Bishkek.

Vice-President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber R. Schenz, in turn, confirmed the participation of the Austrian business delegation in the 1st EU-CA Economic Forum.
