Washington, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Ruslan Kazakbaev, Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan held a meeting with Courtenay Rattray, United Nations High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States.
Both sides talked about problems regarding climate change and the pandemic. Courtenay appreciated the active international role of Kyrgyzstan as an advocate of the landlocked state’s interests. The Minister expressed confidence that this approach would become a successful model of support for mountain regions in the future.
Courtenay assured the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister of his support in areas of mutual interests. It includes post-pandemic developments as well as addressing issues of climate change in Landlocked states. Also, both parties will continue fruitful interaction.
