Istanbul, 28 September 2021 (TDI): Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Ruslan Kazakbaev took part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (CCTS).
This meeting was regarding the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the Turkic-speaking countries. Kyrgyzstan is delivering humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. Also, the Kyrgyz side called on the International community, including the Turkic-speaking countries for efforts to achieve peace and stability in neighboring Afghanistan.
Minister Kazakbayev, in his speech, elaborated on the upcoming parliamentary elections in November 2021. Also, during the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the draft Agenda of the upcoming 8th CCTS Summit on November 12 this year in Istanbul, as well as other topical issues of multilateral cooperation within the CCTS were considered.
The Foreign Ministers of the CCTS Member States noted the need for the International community to take steps to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan. They also mentioned that the International community must provide assistance to the people of Afghanistan on the eve of the coming winter.
