Korean Ambassador called on Pakistani Finance Minister

Islamabad, 18 August 2021 (TDI): The Finance Minister of Pakistan, Shaukat Tarin talked to the Korean Ambassador to Pakistan Suh Sang Pyo who called on him in the capital, yesterday.

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin made a statement that gave clarity on the matter of the auto industry. The Foreign Minister stated that the government will be appearing with a comprehensive policy for the expansion of the auto industry. He went onto add that the policy they will be following aims to increase the production of cars, motorcycles, and tractors. He mentioned that the government aims to encourage, motivate and lead foreign investors to get involved in several fields for the investment venture. Moreover, he made it clear that the government wants to revive the business and industry that is seeing staggering growth due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the government is focusing on employment generation, efficient use of resources, and industrial growth. Shaukat Tarin also said that the government desires to increase its exports to Korea.

Nevertheless, the Korean Ambassador brought to attention the potential and strength in the cooperation of hydropower generation and explained that Korean companies are quite satisfied and at ease with the working environment in the country.
