Jeddah (TDI): The Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah organized a community gathering on Sunday to mark October 27 as Kashmir Black Day, commemorating the longstanding struggle of Kashmiris against Indian rule in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
Prominent members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities attended the event, which began with readings of messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister.
Syed Mohammad Fawad Sher, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), delivered the keynote address, while Chairman Kashmir Committee Masood Puri and Acting Chairman of J&K Overseas Community, M. Arif Mughal, spoke on the ongoing challenges faced by the people of IIOJ&K.
Students from Pakistani community schools gave speeches expressing solidarity with the Kashmir cause, and the speakers condemned the actions of Indian forces, particularly since August 5, 2019.

They paid tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiris, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting Kashmir’s right to self-determination.
Consul General of Pakistan Khalid Majid expressed gratitude for the support of the OIC and the Saudi government for the Kashmir cause.

Renowned author Dr. Khalid Abbas Al Assadi spoke on the historical importance of Kashmir’s freedom struggle, honoring the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.
The event concluded with prayers for the people of Kashmir and Palestine in their struggle for freedom.
