Washington DC, 4 Sept 2021 (TDI): US Vice President Kamala Harris spoke over a telephone call with Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain and expressed the USA’s gratitude to Bahrain for providing humanitarian support in Afghan evacuation.
During the conversation, both leaders expressed their commitments to continue and strengthen the historic deep ties. Additionally, efforts for regional stability and security were outlined, and issues of common interests including Afghanistan were discussed.
After the chaotic fall of the Afghan government, foreign countries started evacuating their officials, servicemen, diplomatic and military men from Afghanistan. Around 1,24,000 have been evacuated safely from Afghanistan.
