Ghana receives vaccines from US: UNICEF Ghana

Accra, 4 September 2021 (TDI): Ghana received the largest shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX facility. The government of the United States of America donated 1.2 million doses of vaccines to Ghana in these difficult times.

This morning, the US Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie Sullivan, Minister of Health, Mahama A. Seini, and UNICEF Representative received COVID-19 Moderna Vaccines. UNICEF supported the transport and logistics of COVID-19 vaccines to Ghana. On 3 September, Ghana also received 244,800 doses of Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines with the help of UNICEF and the World Bank. These donations of vaccines will help the people of Ghana to defeat the pandemic.
