Beirut, 30 September 2021 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati met with the Prime Minister of Jordan, Bishr Al-Khasawneh. They discussed bilateral relations and cooperation.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the import of electricity from Jordan and gas from Egypt. The issue of energy and work of the joint committee was also discussed. The aim of collaboration in the energy sector between the two friendly countries is to tackle the energy crisis currently predominant in Lebanon.
The Jordanian Prime Minister on his part enunciated his assured support to reinstate peace and stability in Lebanon. Speaking on behalf of King Abdullah II of Jordan, he declared solidarity with Lebanon. He also proclaimed his government’s support for Lebanon under the framework of international consensus.
