Amman, 5 November 2021 (TDI): Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, met with Ireland’s Foreign Minister, Simone Coveney. Foreign Minister Safadi expressed his delight at meeting Coveney. The two had a talk about how to strengthen connections and address regional concerns. Jordan appreciates Ireland’s support for fair peace based on the two-state solution and for UNRWA. Foreign Minister Safadi went on to say that he is looking forward to sustaining close cooperation.
The two Ministers addressed Ireland’s good bilateral relations with Jordan, Ireland’s UN Security Council term, and a number of significant regional concerns. They concentrated on methods to improve the prospects for the two friendly nations’ renowned bilateral ties. They also discussed regional and international topics of mutual interest.
Foreign Minister Coveney emphasized that Jordan is Ireland’s strategic partner in the region. His nation is working to deepen ties with the Kingdom on a variety of levels. He also said that Ireland has declared an increase in its financial contribution to UNRWA. This year, the assistance was increased by nine million euros, and it will be increased again before the end of the year.
