Ramallah, 18 March 2024 (TDI): Palestine has warned of the dangers of displacing the remaining civilians in the northern Gaza Strip. It has stated that the Israeli government bears full responsibility for the lives of medical staff & displaced people in Al-Shifa as well as its environs.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for the lives of medical staff, ambulance crews, patients, and displaced persons present in the Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings.
Likewise, the responsibility for the well-being of the displaced persons in the besieged shelter schools, as well as the lives of those who are arrested among them, lies with the Israelis.

It is pertinent to note that the Ministry emphasized that Palestinian civilians—including women, children, the sick, and the elderly—continue to be victims of the occupation army’s disregard for their lives and of the international community’s refusal to impose any protective measure.
The Ministry believes that Israel intends to destroy any remaining health infrastructure in the Gaza Strip to render it out of operation completely.
Israel has failed to satisfy the basic requirements of the people of Palestine despite rulings from the UN Security Council (UNSC), the General Assembly, and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
This demonstrates once more that the focus of US and international efforts must be on safeguarding civilians in all forms and providing aid to them in a sustainable way—achievable only through an instant cease-fire.
