Ismaili Islamic Centre’s design showcased in Houston

Houston, 18 November 2021, (TDI): The Consul General of Pakistan attended a special event in Houston, Texas.

This event was attended by the Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, along with the elected officials of Sugar Land, President of Ismaili Council for USA Al-Karim Alidina, members of the Ismaili community, and the Pakistani community.

This event was organized to showcase the design for the world’s seventh Ismaili Islamic Center.

All the officials appreciated the designs. CG Abrar H. Hashmi believes that this will help spread awareness about Islamic values and in making people aware of the Pakistani culture as well. Houston is home to the biggest Muslim Ismaili community in the world.

This  Ismaili Center would serve as a headquarter for the Ismaili community and will also be a platform for other activities such as book launches, plays, seminars, and other shows.

Design of the Ismaili Center, Houston

The event displayed unique and special designs of the Ismaili Centre, Houston. The  Ismaili Center would be apropos to the Historical Persian design and the Islamic Architect. The  Ismaili Center has been designed by the world’s famous architects, Farshid Moussavi and Thomas Woltz. This important iconic   Ismaili Center would be located on Allen Parkway, bringing it to the heart of the USA.

Significance of the Ismaili Center, Houston

This  Ismaili Center would be America’s first center and the world’s seventh. The Ismaili Center would be a place to practice religion, enact culture, and a place to socialize with the Muslim Ismaili community.

This  Ismaili Center will build values of pluralism and brotherhood. Such values will not only limit to religious beliefs but also the social norms as well. This  Ismaili Center aims to advance friendship, understanding, and promotion of civil values. The  Ismaili Center will bring out a spirit of openness and dialogue.
