Kabul: 25 July 2021 (TDI): The On-Farm water management project helped rehabilitate canals, ensure reliable irrigation, and reduce water-related conflicts.
Irrigation and Livestock are implementing this project with the support of the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund. Due to these canals now water is distributed fairly now. Irrigation challenges are handled now. The newly built irrigation canals have resulted in less water wastage, great crop diversity, and better earning. It has been reported that water wastage has been reduced by 25 percent. Several villagers appreciated that their yield has increased 100 percent due to the canal. These new irrigation canals do not require the same amount of maintenance as old canals. Now, more attention is paid to the irrigation process than to the maintenance.
