Iran Envoy Appreciates Pakistan’s Firm Support

Islamabad (TDI): Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, has expressed deep gratitude for Islamabad’s firm and consistent support during the recent regional escalation involving Israel.

In an interview with a private news channel, the ambassador said Pakistan emerged as one of Iran’s strongest allies during the crisis, noting that its stance was unmatched among friendly nations.

“The people of Iran hold great respect for Pakistan’s solidarity,” he remarked.

Dr. Amiri lauded Pakistan’s role at major global platforms such as the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors, where Islamabad extended its full diplomatic backing.

He also acknowledged the cooperation extended by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense throughout the tense period.

In contrast, he criticized India for remaining silent during the conflict, claiming New Delhi’s foreign policy is shaped by its ties with Washington and Tel Aviv.

Addressing the origins of the conflict, Dr. Amiri emphasized that Iran’s military response was purely defensive in nature.

“Israel initiated the aggression,” he said, adding that Tehran’s future actions would depend on Israel’s conduct moving forward.
“They suffered significant losses, which might restrain them temporarily. But if they believe they have the upper hand, they may escalate again.”

He also acknowledged the diplomatic backing Iran received from countries like China, Russia, Türkiye, Algeria, and notably, Pakistan, for their principled positions at the United Nations.
