Rawalpindi, 8 November 2022 (TDI): The Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan, Adam Mulawarman Tugio officially launched the creation of a network for graduates of Indonesian higher education institutions on November 7, 2022, in Rawalpindi.

Ambassador Tugio expressed his pleasure that this year’s Indonesian Scholarship recipients included more than 60 Pakistani students.

He observed a positive trend in recent years where many Pakistani students are attending Indonesian universities to further their education.

He based this claim on the QS World University Rankings 2022, which lists five Indonesian universities among the top 500 worldwide.

Likewise, he expressed his confidence that this number will rise as more Pakistani students become aware of the top-notch educational opportunities provided by Indonesian universities.

According to Ambassador Tugio, Pakistan and Indonesia share a rich cultural heritage and traditions that have intriguing and alluring similarities.

Being two of the most populous Muslim nations in the world, both countries embrace modernity while preserving a variety of traditions. These similarities range from nature to culture to the preservation of (Islamic) tradition.

Due to their in-depth knowledge of Indonesia, the envoy encouraged those who had graduated from Indonesian educational institutions to act as “cultural ambassadors of Indonesia.”

The Indonesian Ambassador expressed his personal joy at the expansion of educational ties between Pakistan and Indonesia.

In this vein, he noted that this was a recent development in a much wider and deeper engagement between the two burgeoning allies.

The scholarship offers chances for study, research, and development in the Southeast Asian country through an internationally competitive, merit-based programme.

Attending the ceremony were alumni from various scholarship programmes who had the opportunity to study in Indonesia.

On the platform of the Indonesia-Pakistan Alumni Network, alumni of all ages, from all subject areas, and specialties came together for a lively afternoon of interaction.
