Sharm El Sheikh, 8 November 2022 (TDI): Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) met Emmanuel Macron, the President of France.
Both met on the sidelines of the Conference of Parties for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Rishi Sunak in his tweet described Emmanuel Macron, the President of France as a friend, partner, and ally.
Rishi Sunak joined other world leaders for the opening ceremony for the commencement of the conference. At the conference, both deliberate with issues pertaining to the mutual interest of the UK and France.
UK-France bilateral ties
Regular contacts at all levels, including summits, are the cornerstone of bilateral relations between France and the UK.
As the only European countries with nuclear weapons, permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, and international ambitions accompanied by the necessary political and military tools, the two countries frequently take similar approaches.
