Moscow, 25 February 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Chechen Republic. He also visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
Ramzan Kadyrov, called on the Prime Minister in Moscow today. During the meeting, Imran Khan appreciated the rebuilding of Grozny as well as the rapid growth of Chechen under the leadership of the Head of the Chechen Republic.
The Prime Minister encouraged the advancement of collaboration between different provinces of Pakistan and regions/republics of Russia. He remarked that relations between Pakistan and Russia are on an upward trajectory.

Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan finished the two-day visit to Russia with a tour of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. Whilst there, the Grand Mufti of the Mosque, Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin received the Prime Minister and his entourage.
During the meeting with the Mufti, Prime Minister emphasized the need to counter the rampant trend of Islamophobia across the world. Likewise, he also highlighted the need for developing interfaith harmony for peaceful coexistence in an increasingly polarized world.

In this regard, Imran Khan appreciated President Putin’s understanding of the sensitivities that the Muslims attach to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The Grand Mufti, Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin also briefed the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the history of the Mosque. He also thanked the Prime Minister for his visit.
