Moscow, 25 February 2022 (TDI): Russian President held a telephonic exchange with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev to deliberate upon Ukraine and Russia conflict.
The dialogue took place on February 25. To clarify, the objective of the call was to discuss Ukraine Crisis along with strengthening the bilateral ties.
Considering the current state of affairs, both Presidents discussed developments regarding the military operation in the Donbas region. Accordingly, the Russian President emphasized that military operation is held to protect civilians in Ukraine.
In addition to that, Russian military operations will also uphold denazification and demilitarization. Likewise, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov also held Nazism, militarization, and Russophobia as the ultimate reasons for Ukraine and Russia’s Conflict.
However, the President of Uzbekistan said that he understands the actions of the Russian Federation. Moreover, both leaders discussed current issues in bilateral aspects.
Both presidents expressed their intention for the progress and development of the Russian-Uzbek strategic partnership. They also reaffirmed their commitment in areas of specific trade and humanitarian projects.
Military Operation in Ukraine
In this context, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has said that the main objective of the Russian Federation is the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. He urged the Ukrainian army to lay down the weapons for these reasons.
He also said that any foreign intervention in Ukraine will witness a prompt response. The Russian President’s address emphasized that the operation is initiated upon the request of the authorities of Donetsk and Lugansk to deter Kyiv’s military aggression.
Besides, Kiyv authorities have publicly denounced the significance of the Minsk agreement. He delivered his address on February 24. Similarly, his message is as under;
“Its purpose is to protect the people who have for eight years been exposed to humiliation and genocide by the regime in Kiev. For this we will seek demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, and also press for bringing to justice those who have committed numerous bloody crimes against peaceful civilians, including Russian citizens.”
Nevertheless, Russian Federation has reiterated that it doesn’t intend to occupy the Ukraine region. It is the fundamental right of Ukrainians to decide for themselves.
But, the Russian President highlighted that self-determination doesn’t mean acquiring nuclear weapons. He further pointed out Russia wouldn’t let NATO expand further on the eastern flank.
