Beijing, 5 February 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister Imran Khan along with the other foreign dignitaries attended the banquet hosted by the President of China, Xi Jinping, and his wife Peng Liyuan. The banquet was hosted at the Great Hall of People in the honor of the guests, in Beijing, today.
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan also attended the banquet. He is visiting China at the invitation of the Chinese leaders for the Beijing Olympics. Whilst there, he will be meeting with various dignitaries on the sidelines of the sports event.

The guests were treated with various musical performances as well as exhibitions of traditional handicrafts alongside the repast at the Great Hall of the People.
The foreign dignitaries included various heads of state and international organizations attending the Winter Olympics 2022. Despite the pandemic, the banquet will be a face-to-face meeting.
Besides Prime Minister Imran Khan, the banquet guestlist included President Putin of Russia, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. In addition, a handful of leaders from the Asia Pacific and Europe were also among the invitees.
Furthermore, heads of international organizations including the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the World Health Organization’s Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as well as the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach also attended the event.
The President of the UN General Assembly was also amongst the invitees. Both Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and Abdulla Shahid were among the Olympic torchbearers.
The opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics was held on 4 February in Beijing with much fanfare and magnificent spectacles. Prime Minister Imran Khan also attended the opening ceremony of the Winter Games.
