Karachi, 16 November 2022 (TDI): The 11th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar IDEAS-22 begins at Expo Centre in Karachi on Tuesday. It is a four-day event that lasts from 15 to 18 November. underway
It is organized by Defence Export Promotion Organization after hiatus of four years due to COVID-19. The theme of the IDEAS this year is ‘Armed for peace.’
The agenda of the event is to gather defense industries from around the world on a single platform to exhibit the latest technological innovations.
Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the defense exhibition. Israr Tareen, Defence Production Minister, and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah along with senior civil and military officials also attended the ceremony.

While addressing the ceremony, the Foreign Minister welcomed the guests to the “special edition of innovation and excellence”.
Bilawal highlighted that despite going through an economic catastrophe, Pakistan survived imminent danger due to the coalition “for the unity that helped the economy.”
Additionally, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif took to Twitter to appreciate the initiative and declared IDEAS a growing footprint in the global defense market.
“Arms for Peace, the theme of IDEAS’22, reflects Pakistan’s desire for peace & stability. Good to see that our defense sector is catering to demands of tech,” he continued.

To commemorate the exhibition, the Ministry of Pakistan Postal Services has issued a commemorative postal stamp worth Rs. 20.
It is pertinent to mention here that about 300 exhibitors from 32 countries will showcase their products. More than 285 high-level delegates from 64 countries are visiting the exhibition.
