Islamabad (TDI): Led by Chief Executive Officer Ethen Sun, a delegation of Huawei called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.
The delegation agreed to provide more tech trainings to Pakistanis in two different categories – specialized hi-tech and basic tech trainings.
Around 60,000 young Pakistani will receive hi-tech training from the technological giant and some 240000 will receive basic tech training. These trainings are part of the ICT Program.
This is not the first time that Huawei Technologies will offer tech trainings to Pakistani youth. It has already trained over 20,000 young people in the past under the information and communication technology (ICT) skills program.

The agreement to train 300000 Pakistani youth was reached at last year between the Government of Pakistan and the Chinese multinational tech enterprise – Huawei.
Talking to the delegation, PM Shehbaz said that technology education and equipping the youth with latest technologies is a top priority of his government.
He expressed hope that these trainings will boost Pakistan’s IT exports and create employment for young people in the country.
“We seek a strong and long-term partnership with Huawei,” he added.

Huawei is set to deliver these trainings by the end of the year and also plans to validate these modules from third parties.
In collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Huawei has already designed and delivered courses on Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, big data, and cyber security in fifteen different universities of Pakistan.
ICT is an important initiative of Pakistan’s Government, one which it prioritizes to boost its economy and employment for young graduates.
Huawei and the IT Ministry of Pakistan have also developed a training portal to streamline the country’s tech workforce in one place.
