Government’s top priority to formulate business policies: Imran Khan

Islamabad, 11 September 2021 (TDI): In a review meeting of steps taken by the government to enhance exports, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the government is taking steps to ensure ease of doing business and to attract investors. He said that the government is collaborating with the business community. It is fully considering their insights to formulate pro-business policies. The government aims to increase exports by diversifying the market and products. He said that the government is working to fully facilitate the exporters.

The meeting was informed that Pakistan could increase its exports up to thirty billion dollars by targeting the highly potential nineteen sectors specifically textiles, poultry, rice, medicines, information technology, leather, salt, ceramics, surgical tools, and vegetables.

Khan also encouraged the business community to cooperate with the government. However, he fully utilizes the available opportunities. During the meeting, the PM was also informed on the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Punjab.

Furthermore, the Commerce Division was directed by PM Imran Khan. The aim was to set goals for the trade and investment officers recruited in foreign countries.
