Global leaders react to Trump’s Gaza Takeover

Washington (TDI): United States President Donald Trump has introduced his plan to take over the Gaza Strip after Palestinians are forcibly moved out of the besieged Gaza to get shifted to other countries. 

During a news conference on Tuesday, Trump suggested Palestinians would “love to leave” Gaza, saying he envisions long-term US ownership of the Gaza Strip while it’s being rebuilt.

Responses

State of Palestine

State of Palestine wrote in an X post,

“For those who want to send Palestine to a nice place allow them to go back to their original homes in what is now Israel. The Palestinian wants to rebuild Gaza because this is where we belong.”

Palestinian Liberation Organization

Secretary-General Hussein al-Sheikh of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation rejects all calls for the displacement of the Palestinian people. He stated in an X post,

“The Palestinian leadership affirms its firm position that the two-state solution, by international legitimacy and international law, is the guarantee of security, stability and peace.”

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia also gave its response, firmly rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinians from their land, and described its position as clear as well as not “negotiable”. 

The Foreign Minister said in a post on X,

“Saudi Arabia strongly opposes any actions that violate the rights of the Palestinian people. This includes Israeli settlement expansion, the annexation of Palestinian land, and any attempts to force Palestinians from their homes.”

Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, said in a statement,

“There are Israeli plans to take full control of the occupied West Bank and attempts to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, practicing a policy of collective punishment is a method that Russia rejects.”

Scotland

Scotland’s first minister John Swinney said in a post on X,

“After months of collective punishment and the death of over 40,000 in Gaza, any suggestion Palestinians should be removed from their homes is unacceptable and dangerous”
