Gilgit, Skardu Flights Cancelled Amid Airspace Alert

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan has intensified monitoring of its airspace amid heightened security concerns over potential Indian aggression. Air traffic control authorities have issued new instructions to closely track all flight movements, including those of foreign airlines passing through Pakistani airspace.

The monitoring of suspicious aircraft has been enhanced, and any such flights will now require high-level approval, The Express Tribune reported on Wednesday.

All commercial flights set to operate to and from Gilgit and Skardu have been cancelled due to security concerns.

According to officials, these are precautionary steps to ensure national airspace security during a period of increased tensions between Pakistan and India.

Moreover, authorities in Pakistan have issued high alert for all airports, considerably enhancing security and surveillance protocols.

Strict tracking has started of all foreign airlines operating flights that either pass through or originate from Indian airspace.

While Indian airlines are banned from operating in Pakistan, flights from other global airlines continue under enhanced scrutiny.
