Abuja, 11 November 2021 (TDI): Germany opens a German-Nigerian Hydrogen Office in the capital of Nigeria with a two days session (November to 11 November) to train Nigerian decision-makers on power-to-X. The program is a part of the hydrogen diplomacy of Germany. The program will promote the establishment of a German-Nigerian cooperative partnership.
Therefore, the focus in the training will be on processes for converting electricity into fuels, especially for the industrial sector. The objective of the program is to network experts, companies, and decision-makers from Germany and Nigeria and to offer expert advice on challenges and opportunities posed by the hydrogen economy. Furthermore, Germany is using hydrogen to meet a commitment to energy transition and a climate-neutral country by 2045.
Likewise, in Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue on 16 March 2021, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said “Hydrogen can be produced almost anywhere in the world. Seizing this opportunity and at the same time minimizing the risks of the global energy policy transformation is what we want to do with our foreign policy on hydrogen.”
German hydrogen diplomacy encourages the dialogue on the implications of the shift in the global energy economy towards renewable energies.
