Berlin, 12 August 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, the German Foreign Affairs Minister, Heiko Maas called on his Bahrain counterpart Abdul Latif bin Rashid al-Zayani along with their respective delegations in Berlin. The Foreign Ministers discussed the current situation of the Gulf region and Germany’s positive developmental role in the Middle East. The Foreign Minister of Bahrain also voiced his concern for the flooding catastrophe in Germany.
Germany recently also hosted the Berlin 1 and 2 conferences on Libya, encouraging the international community to play constructive roles to resolve overdue disputes. Moreover, the importance of the Middle East Peace process, as well as a peaceful settlement of the two-state solution, in regard to the Israel-Palestine conflict was stressed.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas applauded the role of Bahrain and its services to stabilize the regional tensions. The Bahrain Foreign Minister likewise appreciated the friendly relations with Germany and its contribution to promoting good governance and peace in the neighboring regions.
