Marina Bay, 19 October 2021 (TDI): Member-Nations of the friendly alliance, Five Power Defense Arrangements (FPDA) gathered together. They witnessed a fly-past and a naval vessel display. The celebration was in commemoration of 50 years of cordial friendship and defense Relations.
Fly-past and naval vessel display was arranged at Marina Barrage. Singapore’s Defense Minister received the High commissioners of FPDA Member-Nations at the venue.
Over the day, event concluded the ‘Bersama’ Exercise successfully. Bersama is the first physical exercise in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic. It is keynote to 50th anniversary to FPDA.
Bersama engaged 2,600 personnel from the allied states and a contactless air and maritime Field Training exercise. The exercise included virtual jungle warfare workshop.
Dr. Ng paid gratitude to to the five partner nations and declared the exercise as reflection of a strong commitment of Member-Nations of FPDA”.
FPDA includes Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom along with Singapore. It was established in 1971 to meet increasingly complex security environment. It is Asia’s oldest alliance.
In coming days, Singapore’s Defense Minister, Dr. Ng will attend the virtual 11th FPDA Defense Ministers’ teleconference.
