Seoul, 4 November 2021 (TDI): South Korean Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Choi Jong Kun met with Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, the Foreign Minister of Qatar. The meeting was held in Seoul.
During the meeting, the two counterparts exchanged views on bilateral ties, essential cooperation, and regional & global developments. Qatar has emerged as a diplomatic center of the Middle East. Korea seeks to strengthen ties with the country to enhance cooperation.

South Korea and Qatar agreed to continue cooperation for a strategic partnership. The comprehensive meeting covered a myriad of issues ranging from cooperation, climate change to the prevalent situation of the Middle East.
The diplomatic engagement also included discussion on the energy and construction sectors. The two sides agreed to cooperate for mutual benefit in the spheres of trade and renewable energy.
South Korea and Qatar have been jointly working on many regional issues. The two established diplomatic relations in 1974; in 2007, they transitioned into a comprehensive partnership.
