Foreign Minister of Zimbabwe met with Director-General FAO

Rome, 9 October 2021(TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe, Frederick Musiiwa Makamure Shava met with the Director-General of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Qu Dongyu.

The meeting was held at the sidelines of the Italy-Africa Ministerial Conference code-named Encounters with Africa 2021 in Rome, Italy.

They discussed the importance of enhancing the long-standing partnership and collaboration, to boost agriculture, food security, and nutrition security.

They also talked about climate change and future partnerships with international organizations.

Foreign Minister also expressed his gratification at meeting with the Director-General of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Qu Dongyu.

Foreign Minister said that Climate change, food security, and sustainable agriculture are all important goals for Zimbabwe’s government to reach. However, no country should be stand-alone. The meeting was a great success, Foreign Minister added.
