Caracas, 30 July 2022 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Carlos Faria, met with the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Le Viet Duyen, for bilateral talks.

Agenda of the Meeting
During the meeting, both sides ratified the fraternal ties between the two countries for more than 32 years.
In addition, they also discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations in different strategic areas. These include areas of support, cooperation, and complementarity.
Furthermore, they also reviewed issues concerning the promotion of trade and investment relations between the two countries.

The foreign minister of Venezuela stated that bilateral relations between the two countries continue to strengthen. In a meeting with Ambassador Le Viet Duyen, the Venezuelan official reviewed the work agenda of the two governments.
Likewise, Ambassador Le Viet Duyen expressed pride in the relationship with Venezuela. He mentioned that both countries are celebrating the 15th anniversary of establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Moreover, the 9th Venezuela-Vietnam Bilateral Political Consultations Meeting was recently held in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Capaya Rodríguez González, and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam, Ha Kim Ngo, were in attendance.
As a result, they reviewed the relations between the two countries in various areas of common interest.
Venezuela-Vietnam relations
Both countries officially established diplomatic ties in December 1989. They opened embassies in Vietnam (2005) and Venezuela (2006).
In light of this, the two countries have frequent meetings and exchanges, including visits by high-level leaders of both nations.
During a visit to Venezuela in 2007, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and President Chavez signed a joint statement. This statement affirmed their determination to develop a comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
Professor Dr. Vu Van Hien, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, established the Vietnam-Venezuela Friendship Association in 2006.
Both nations have cooperation agreements in energy, oil, housing construction, culture, and agriculture, among other strategic areas.
