Washington DC, 30 November 2022 (TDI): The Foreign Affairs Minister of Sri Lanka, Ali Sabry visited the United State of America (USA) beginning on the 29th of November 2022.

He is expected to end on the 4th of December 2022 at the invitation of the US’ Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.

Foreign Minister Ali Sabry is scheduled to meet the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, members of the Congress, and other Senior members of the US Government.

During the visit, he will seek to strengthen the diplomatic relations Sri Lanka has with the US. The need to ensure that both countries work together for political, economic, and sociocultural development will be paramount at the meetings.

Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken is expected to have a diplomatic conversation with Ali Sabry as both brace towards cooperation.

It is pertinent to note that Sri Lanka has endeavored to strengthen its diplomatic relations with its partners. Just recently, Sri Lanka and Brazil held the Inaugural Bilateral and Political Consultation.

In addition, many other steps have been taken by the country to promote their bilateral relations.

Also, the meetings in the US will help further partnerships in trade. The government of the US continues to be in trade terms with Sri Lanka and both countries have helped each other in many ways.

Sri Lanka-US Relations

Sri Lanka and the US have had good relations with both assisting each other in various ways. The exchange of human and capital resources has been a great contribution by both countries.

The US has assisted the government of Sri Lanka with a good amount of capital for its economic establishment in the wake of an economic crisis in the country.
