New York, 19 May 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on his Turkish counterpart, the Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The meeting between the duo was held on the sidelines of the Ministerial meeting on the “Global Food Security Call to Action” in New York. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan is visiting the United States (US) to attend the meeting.

During the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed satisfaction over the exceptional bilateral collaboration between Pakistan and Turkey. He reiterated the resolve of Pakistan to further improve its wide-ranging partnership with the brotherly country of Turkey.

Along these lines, the Foreign of Pakistan noted that the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Turkey in November this year will be commemorated in a befitting fashion.

Moreover, he thanked the Turkish Government for its dependable support as well as its principled position on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

In the same vein, he briefed the Turkish Foreign Minister on the so-called “Delimitation Commission” along with the illegal steps taken by India in IIOJK.

Likewise, the two sides exchanged views on various international issues. Foreign Minister Bilawal lauded Turkey’s role and contributions to the advancement of peace and stability in the region.

He also appreciated the support of Turkey to address the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. Furthermore, the two sides expressed commitment to collaborate for enhancing economic cooperation to unleash the full potential of Pakistan-Turkey trade ties.

Lastly, the duo agreed to maintain close contact to preserve the upward trajectory along with adding momentum to the friendly and mutually beneficial ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
