Islamabad, 24th March 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a bilateral meeting with Ruslan Kazakbaev, the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad. The agenda was to review the bilateral relations as well as multilateral collaboration.

These include matters associated with defense and security, trade and investment, as well as connectivity agenda. The two counterparts noted the progress made on the CASA-1000 project with satisfaction. Likewise, they expressed commitment to its timely realization.

The duo also agreed to improve people-to-people exchanges and collaboration in the education sector. Moreover, issues related to the welfare of Pakistani students along with the expatriate community were discussed.

Along these lines, the significance of frequent exchanges and dialogue under existent mechanisms and high-level visits to further forge momentum in the relationship was emphasized.

The two sides also affirmed commitment to stay constructively as well as meaningfully involved to further strengthen Pakistan-Kyrgyz bilateral linkages.

48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the OIC

The 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was being held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The theme of the 48th CFM was Building Partnerships for Unity, Justice, and Development. The Summit lasted for two days from March 22 to 23, 2022.

The Session addressed multifarious topics as well as the activities of the OIC General Secretariat. The agenda of the 48th OIC CFM was to evaluate the implementation of the resolutions adopted on various matters in the Islamic world.
