Astana, 31 October 2022 (TDI): Mukhtar Tileuberdi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan held talks with Annalena Baerbock, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany. Annalena Baerbock is on her first official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

An Overview of the Discourse

The ongoing year is marked as the 30th anniversary of the formation of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Germany.

The Foreign Minister of both states met to explore the prospects for further strengthening the partnership.

The counterparts discussed the contemporary scenario and status of bilateral ties in various substantial sectors. The concentrated spheres were politics, economy, and humanitarian assistance.

They also looked into the possibilities for extending the harmonization between the two states’ stances relevant to the international agenda.

The interlocutors noted that Kazakhstan and Germany needed to organize a high level of political dialogue, along with the advancement of mutually beneficial cooperation in the spheres of trade, economy, and investment.

The Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan paid gratitude to the German counterpart and expressed assurance that her working visit will act as a motivating force in elevating the economic and political collaboration between the two states.

The Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany acknowledged the efforts of Kazakhstan. She stated that amid the contemporary intricate geographic situation, the Republic of Kazakhstan grasp a clear stance. The country deserves appreciation for doing so.

Kazakhstan-Germany Bilateral Relations

On 31st December 1991, Germany recognized the sovereign status of Kazakhstan. Both countries established diplomatic relations on 11th February 1992.

Later on, in 1992, Germany established its embassy in Kazakhstan, while the latter established an embassy in Germany in 1993.

The political elites of both states continued to develop high-level contacts and paid visits to ensure the durability and permanence of mutual ties.

Apart from bilateral relations, both states are active contributors to various multilateral cooperation forums within the framework of various international organizations.

The Countries also enjoyed long-term collaboration and cooperation in all significant spheres including economy, trade, investment, cultural, humanitarian, and multilateral development.
