Foreign Minister Dar meets Chinese Vice Premier at Nuclear Summit

Brussels, 22 March 2024 (TDI):  Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a significant meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing on March 22, attending the First Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Nuclear summit, emphasized China’s commitment to assist Pakistan in stabilizing its financial situation.

During the meeting, both sides reiterated the importance of the longstanding cooperation between Pakistan and China in civil nuclear technology.

Vice Premier Zhang and Foreign Minister Dar reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in this vital sector, highlighting its significance for both nations.

Furthermore, Vice Premier Zhang and Foreign Minister Dar acknowledged the traditional ‘Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership’ and emphasized the strength of their iron-clad friendship.

They hailed this relationship as exemplary and unique, reflecting the deep bonds of trust and mutual respect between the two countries.

Commitment to One-China Policy

Foreign Minister Dar reiterated Pakistan’s continuous support for the One-China policy, emphasizing the absolute consensus within Pakistan on relations with China.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), demonstrating the depth of bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Dar highlighted China’s readiness to upgrade CPEC and further strengthen cooperation in diverse fields.

However, discussions encompassed industry, mining, information technology, and other sectors, reflecting the shared commitment to expanding bilateral ties for mutual benefit.
