FM Wang Yi met FM Mongolia in Tianjin

Tianjin: 28 July 2021 (TDI):The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met his Mongolian counterpart FM Batmunkh Battsetseg in Tianjin on Tuesday. Both the Foreign Ministers held a meeting and together addressed the media after the meeting.

FM Wang while quoting the cooperation of Mongolia and China during COVID times stated that the way both states have supported each other in times of crisis has led to a new dimension of bilateral friendship. Wang further mentioned that China is willing to support Mongolia to develop by deepening Chinese cooperation with Mongolia in the people- to people exchanges, mining, energy, economy, farming, livestock, and infrastructure construction sectors.

In response to Wang, FM Battsetseg also showed Mongolia’s desire to work with China and to develop a comprehensive strategic relationship between the two states.

A joint statement was also released after the talks. In the statement China and Mongolia agreed to carry out the cooperation against COVID, support multilateralism, deepen cooperation between the two states, and jointly stressed that the origin tracing of the virus should not be politicized.

The two parties also urged to improve cooperation between the BRI and Steppe Road program, prioritize boosting a number of key projects, and work to meet the 10 billion USD bilateral trade objective as soon as possible.
