Riyadh, 13 August 2021 (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met with his Yemeni counterpart, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak in Riyadh on Wednesday.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly states and ways to further them. They also shed light upon conducting joint efforts in the fields of diplomacy and politics over regional and international issues of common interest.
Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, Yemeni Foreign Minister delivered the gratitude of the Yemeni government and people to the Kingdom for supporting them in their struggle for the restoration of the state, defeating the Houthi takeover. In addition, he commended the Kingdom’s humanitarian role in extending development and relief aid to Yemeni people who were suffering from the economic downturn.
The Yemeni minister then underscored the significance of implementing the Riyadh Agreement for helping the Yemeni nation and improving the situation in Aden -the interim capital. Dr. Mubarak also analyzed the challenges affecting the Yemeni expatriates and the care they receive from their Saudi brothers.
On the other hand, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan assured his state’s stance on the unity, stability, security, and territorial integrity of Yemen. He further affirmed the Kingdom’s willingness to cooperate in all fields for the benefit of the people and bringing stability to Yemen was appreciated.
The two dignitaries hailed the United Nations for appointing the new UN envoy, Hans Grundberg, wishing him success for completing the efforts for the international community towards finding a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the Yemeni crisis and creating peace and stability in the Middle Eastern region.
Yemen’s Head of the Foreign Minister’s Office, Ambassador Abdul Qader Muhammad Hadi, and Deputy Ambassador Abdul Malik Hassan Al-Iryani also attended the meeting.
