FM Germany and Qatar hold talk on Afghanistan

Doha, 24 August 2021 (TDI): The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani held a conversation over the phone with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Heiko Maas.

During their talks, the officials from both sides reviewed the level of bilateral cooperation between their states and exchanged views on security and political developments in Afghanistan.

Regarding the situation in Afghanistan, Maas thanked and appreciated the efforts put by the state of Qatar in evacuating the civilians in Afghanistan. Both Foreign Ministers highlighted the importance of “comprehensive political talks” and the protection of the rights of Afghan civilians.
