RAWALPINDI, 30 August 2024 (TDI): Security forces have killed at least five terrorists in a series of Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) conducted in southwestern Balochistan, said to a military statement released on Friday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of the Pakistan Army, said that the operations, which targeted areas in Kech, Panjgur, and Zhob districts, resulted in the deaths of five terrorists.
Additionally, three terrorists were injured during the heavy firing that occurred in the operations last night conducted last night.
The successful operations come in response to a series of terrorist incidents in Balochistan on August 26, which left over 50 people, including 14 soldiers, dead. In retaliation operation, security forces had hunted and killed 21 terrorists involved in coordinated deadly attacks.
On the night between Saturday and Sunday, unidentified gunmen launched attacks on Levies and police stations in Mastung, Kalat, Pasni, and Santsar, causing multiple casualties.
The violence also included blasts and grenade attacks in Sibi, Panjgur, Mastung, Turbat, Bela, and Quetta. Notably, attackers blew up a railway track connecting Pakistan and Iran near Mastung’s bypass area.
Kalat Superintendent of Police (SP) Dostin Dashti confirmed that these overnight incidents in Kalat district resulted in 11 deaths, including security personnel, and left six others injured.
