Kabul, 31 August 2021 (TDI): The first humanitarian aid was delivered by the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) to Afghanistan. World Health Organization (WHO) notified that the lifesaving supplies were to be provided in 29 provinces and approximately 40 health centers.
Tedros Adhanom, Director General of the World Health Organization, expressed his gratitude and acknowledged Pakistan for its support. He further expressed gratitude to the contributors and the donors who delivered Contingency Fund for Emergencies. He also showed appreciation to his logistic team in Afghanistan for their continuous efforts.
The Plane carrying out humanitarian aid is one of the three planned flights with PIA. These necessary medical supplies will fill the gap in Afghanistan’s current health-care facilities.
