Brussels, 10 August 2021 (TDI): EU has increased its efforts to support vaccination in its partner countries by increasing the assistance package from €40 million to €75 million. The six Eastern Partnership countries include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine. This project will increase access to vaccines, supporting the COVAX initiative and distribution of vaccines.
EU is one of the top leading contributors to COVAX that ensures equitable access worldwide to vaccines. EU’s goals include a minimum of 200 million doses to partner countries before December of 2021. The program benefits the Central Asian states and builds on regional integration.
