Ethiopian State Minister called on UK’s Special Envoy for Famine Prevention

Addis Ababa, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Eyob Tekalign, the Ethiopian State Minister of Finance, had a meeting with Nick Dyer, the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for Famine Prevention and Humanitarian Affairs, to discuss the ongoing humanitarian and economic distress in the state of Ethiopia.

The State Minister briefed Nick Dyer about the current situation of the Tigray, Amhara, and Afar region of Ethiopia, where TPLF is painting a severe threat to humanity. The UK’s special envoy assured continuous support of the United Kingdom for the government and people to Ethiopia to combat economic and humanitarian issues.

The conference was also attended by the Ethiopian State Minister for Economic Cooperation, Yasmin Wohabrebbi, who explained to the envoy about the efforts made by the Ethiopian National Emergency Coordination Centre for enhancing humanitarian support to the deprived regions of Ethiopia.

The meeting concluded with the assurance of the UK’s economic and humanitarian support for Ethiopia on all fronts.
