Cairo, 8 December 2021 (TDI): Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat held a meeting with United Nations and its affiliated agencies. Likewise, more than 75 representatives from UN agencies, ministries, and other stakeholders attended the meeting. Egyptian Minister and United Nations Resident Coordinator Elena Banova chaired the meeting.

The meeting aims to monitor the latest interventions in the Presidential project Hayat Karimah. Besides, the meeting is held through hybrid means (Physical and Online).
Discussions in the meeting
In the meeting, officials discussed the Presidential project “Hayat Karimah,” under the Egyptian government and UN partnership. Furthermore, they talked about the project under the current strategic framework of the partnership for the period 2018-2022.
Minister Al Mashat stressed the strategic importance of the discussions over Presidental’s “Hayat Karimah” project. Likewise, Egyptian Minster praised the United Nations (UN) and Egypt partnership.
Moreover, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt, Elena Banova, praised the Egyptian government’s development strategy and the Hayat Karimah project. More, she also appreciated the implementation of all the seventeen Sustainable Development Goal in the Hayat Karimah Project. It depicts states’ efforts to achieve Sustainable Development 2030.
As well, she said, “the United Nations is working in close partnership with the government represented in the Ministry of International Cooperation to visualize future steps on contributing to the presidential initiative Hayat Karimah.”
Strategic Framework of Partnership between Egypt and the United Nations
Egypt and the United Nations launched the partnership in 2006, and it regulates cooperation frame with United Nations agencies. Minister of International Cooperation is the Co-chair of the Strategic Partnership Steering Committee alongside the United Nations Coordinator in Egypt. Likewise, Egypt follows sustainable development, and the ministry coordinates with the UN to comply with sustainable goals.
Hayat Karimah Project
Hayat Karimah is the largest national project in Egypt’s history. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi launched this initiative. More, the project aims to improve the daily life and living conditions of Egyptian citizens. Initiative provides an integrated package of services, mainly social, health, and living aspects.
