Egyptian Intelligence Chief Discusses Gaza Truce with Netanyahu

Jerusalem (TDI): Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Tuesday to discuss efforts to stabilize the delicate ceasefire in Gaza, according to official statements from both sides.

Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office and included his senior security and diplomatic advisers.

“The discussions focused on advancing President Trump’s peace plan, strengthening Israel–Egypt ties, and reviewing key regional developments,” the statement read. The Trump-era roadmap includes the framework for the current Gaza truce.

Egyptian media reported that Rashad will also hold talks with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, who is in Israel for consultations on maintaining the ceasefire.

The Egyptian official’s visit follows just over a week of relative calm in Gaza after a ceasefire was brokered in Sharm El-Sheikh, where Egypt played a central mediating role.

The trip also coincides with the arrival of US Vice President JD Vance, who is expected to meet Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders on Wednesday.
