Baku, 26 July 2022 (TDI): The Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) bestowed an award on Dr. Yousuf Khushk, the Chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).
Dr Yousuf Khushk has been awarded with the Title of Honorary Friend of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjvi, (ANAS). The award has been given in recognition of his efforts to promote literature.
During his visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, ANAS organized a welcoming reception for the Chairman of PAL. Moreover, Professor Isa Habibbeyli, the Vice President of ANAS organized an award distribution ceremony.
In addition, a program as well as presentation of 3 books and 1 Magazine representing Pakistan and Pakistani literature, visit of the guest to Pakistani corner in Central Scientific library along with a friendly lunch, were also organized.
Dr. Khushk has supported the development of Azerbaijan-Pakistan scientific relationships as well as the services in the development of literature studies in Azerbaijan.
At the end of the auspicious event, Dr. Khushk thanked the hosts, prominent writers, and intellectuals for conferring the honor.
He further stated that regardless of language, the literature as well as writers in every country, are an asset to the world.
He went on to say that, there is a need for time to have relations between writers at the global level, for human solidarity and world peace.
Aside from that, at the conclusion of the auspicious event, souvenirs were also presented by both sides.

Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) is located in Baku. It is the main state research organization as well as the primary body that conducts research.
Moreover, it also coordinates activities in the domains of science and social sciences. The Academy was established on 23 January 1945.
Dr. Yousuf Khushk is a prominent critic and linguist. He assumed charge as Chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) for three years.
Dr. Yousuf Khushk did his Ph.D. in 2007 from Heidelberg University, Germany. Before working with PAL, he served as Pro-Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.
