New York (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty on the sidelines of the International Conference on the Two-State Solution in New York on Monday.
During their conversation, the two ministers exchanged views on a range of issues, including bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between their countries.
Both sides emphasized the need to deepen collaboration in several key sectors, notably healthcare, mineral resources, defense, trade, and investment.
Senator Dar and Dr. Abdelatty agreed that efforts should be made to improve connectivity between Pakistan and Egypt, a step they believe would not only strengthen economic ties but also pave the way for more robust trade engagement.

The two officials also spoke in favour of arranging high-level visits in the near future to sustain diplomatic momentum.
During the meeting, Egypt’s foreign minister congratulated Pakistan on assuming the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council this month.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent and constructive role in international diplomacy and its active participation in global affairs.
Discussing developments in the Middle East, both ministers expressed deep concern over the situation in Gaza.

They strongly backed the Palestinian people’s rights, calling for an immediate end to Israeli military operations and insisting that humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach those in need without obstruction.
The two also shared the hope that the ongoing conference would help move forward efforts toward a practical and lasting two-state solution.
