“As Pakistan’s ironclad friend and all-weather strategic cooperative partner, China fully understands Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns and supports Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and security interests. China supports an impartial investigation as soon as possible, as the conflict does not serve the fundamental interests of either India or Pakistan nor does it contribute to regional peace and stability,” the statement said.
On April 22, five armed militants conducted an attack, killing 26 tourists and injuring 20 others in the city of Pahalgam, the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).
The Indian Prime Minister falsely accused Pakistan of the attack. Not only did the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, unilaterally pull out of the 1960 Indus Water Treaty, but he also vowed to respond at the time and place of their choosing, leading to further escalating the tensions between the two countries.
