New York, 3 September 2021 (TDI): Young and talented Slovakian Youth Envoy and Policy Advisor Daniel del Valle met with the United Nations Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth Jayathma Wickramanayake.
Daniel del Valle expressed his gratitude to the UN Youth envoy and appreciated her performance and leadership in consolidating and spreading the UN Youth agenda. Both parties expressed their utmost willingness to work in collaboration for the enhanced youth participation in UN initiatives. Daniel del Valle stated that he looks forward to exploring and creating new opportunities with the UN envoy for the young people in the world.
The interlocutors also discussed the strategy implementation of the UN Youth 2030 initiative. This strategy aims at bringing youth to the decision tables while making consequential decisions for the global issue particularly related to sustainable development, environmental degradation, and human rights violations. The strategy aims to empower youth by providing them equal rights and opportunities.
Slovakian Permanent Ambassador to UN Michal Mlynar was also present at the meeting. He appreciated both young leaders’ commitment and dedication towards their work for global youth.
