Copenhagen, 26 August 2021 (TDI): Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark has been named as the safest city in the world, breaking Tokyo’s previous record. It has topped the rankings of the safest city by Economist Intelligence Unit. The top five cities in the rankings list are Copenhagen, Toronto, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
Denmark’s capital Copenhagen topped the rankings with a score of 82.4 points out of 100. This list is compiled every two years with key factors including digital security, health, infrastructure, personal, and environmental factors added this year. Whereas Toronto earned 82.2 points.
In the present context, the global pandemic has drastically changed the world view as no region has been safe from Covid 19. This has also led to the health crisis in the world. In the previous report, Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, was named the safest city in the world. According to the 2021 report, these two cities are termed as better adding the factor of environmental security.
